Waxingis a temporary hair removal process that involves applying wax directly to the skin and then removing the wax and hair simultaneously. Waxing removes hair from both large and small areas. Most common requests are performed on legs, arms, underarms, chin, eyebrows, upper lip, bikini lines, backs, fingers, and toes. (Please see the tab "available for purchase online", for waxing areas available, and pricing)
Soft Wax--is the most commonly used wax in our clinic. It is also known as classic wax. Removal of hair over a large area is accomplished quickly and easily with this type of wax. Soft Wax is melted in a heated pot, applied to the skin, and muslin or pellon strips are used to removed the wax and hair from the skin.
Hard Wax--is usually ideal for small areas and thinner, more sensitive skin. Hard Was is warmed in a heated pot, applied to the skin, allowed to harden, and then lifted with the fingers to remove. This wax does not require a fiber strip.
Process:
1. The skin is cleaned with an anti-microbial skin cleanser or wipe. (sanitizes skin prior to service)
2. Powder, corn starch base, is placed on the skin. (buffers the skin from the wax and prevents skin from
lifting.)
3. Wax is placed on the skin along with a muslin strip to remove the wax and hair.
4. A wax remover oil is used to remove wax residue from the skin.
5. The skin is again cleaned with an anti-microbial skin cleanser or wipe.
6. A skin soother is placed on the area waxed. (calms the skin and alleviates any inflammation)
